Pulse ADAMSTOWN PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO RESERVE TWO TICKETS. ONE PER PERSON ONLY! Ticket sales will close at 2pm on the day of.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are having to change the way we climb.  For now we have to make sure we do not bring too many people and that we comply with all requests from Pulse staff and the club to ensure everyone's safety. As such we will be splitting those coming to Pulse social climbing nights into three groups of no more than 20 each. Please get your free ticket to book your spot and please only come at the time you have got a ticket for. If there are too many people Pulse may have to ask some to leave so it is imperative that we all stick to our times. Please only get one ticket and be prepared to have to leave at the end of your allotted session if the gym is busy so that new people can come in.  We ask that you do not attend if: You are awaiting a COVID-19 test result You have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days You have been overseas or in greater Sydney in the last 14 days You have or have had ANY infectious disease in the last 14 days (dealing with other illnesses increases the risk of having serious complications from COVID-19) You are immuno-compromised or have contact with anyone who is immuno-compromised I know some of these may sound harsh but if there is even one positive case because of us climbing will be shut down immediately, do not ruin it for the rest of us! Additionally we all need to make sure we continue to: Sanitise our hands between climbs Sanitise carabiners at every change over Do not share personal equipment Cough/sneeze into elbows or preferably a tissue instead of on your hands followed by washing/sanitising the coughed on area immediately Keep 1.5m away from each other Comply with limits to how many people in each area (20 in boulder area, 8 upstairs, etc) - these are all labelled Comply with staff instructions - if you do not you will be asked to leave the gym and possibly the club, this is a serious matter with serious consequences for the safety of individuals, the accountability of the club and Pulse I look forward to seeing 59 other people there, stay safe, have fun and climb well!

Glenrock Scout Camp
17-07-2021 13:00 – 18-07-2021 13:00
Heya NUMC keen to see you’ve made it to the commitment stage of our relationship   Lets get the NUMC spirit thriving and jiving in glenrock! We’ve rented out the scout campground for the night, it’ll be a fantastic way to meet new people, make new friends and plan some of your own epic trips with your crews.  The goal is to get as many members as (in)humanly possible. It will be a day and a night of more fun with competitive games of spotlight, social hangs and some good ol’ tunes, if you buy a ticket you can come and go as you please without camping/staying the entire time. We’ll have a fam dinner and breakfast, camping gear will be available to hire and lifts can be organised. We would love for this to become a yearly/semesterly event so the more friends you rally, the more fun we’ll have! And if you don’t have friends to rally, I can assure that you will after this event!  The site is in Glenrock national park and literally right next to Burwood beach/leggys (for all you surfy waxheads) Important deets; There will be limited tents, mattresses and sleeping bags will be available to hire at the gear shed so get in quick!  We’ll be arriving at the site at 12pm to set up and aiming to leave by 12.30 pm on Sunday.  The scout campsite has a no alcohol ONSITE policy.  Dinner and breakfast is included (vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options available if you let us know!) Packing-list: - Warm clothes - Lunch and snacks for Saturday and Sunday  - Shoes  - Water  - Bowls/plates/utensils  - Mozzie spray and sunscreen  - Hat  - Swimmers (if you’re capable and brave) - Torch  If you have any questions about the trip please feel free to contact me, Ella (ella bent on facebook) via ella.bennett10@uon.edu.au or 0451123122

NUMC Intermediate Backcountry Ski Trip 2021

13-07-2021 07:00 – 18-07-2021 20:00
It's snowing! Let's turn up the heat with an intermediate back country trip! For this one you need to have skiied before and consider yourself a comfortable resort skier - if that's not you, check out our beginner ski trip running directly before this one! Let's venture a little further afield on a ski trip out in the backcountry. The plan is to drive down on the afternoon of the 13th of July, hire some gear in Cooma,  and then camp in Jindabyne. The next morning we'll then head up into the snow, and start getting our ski legs together. We'll determine where exactly we'll go based on snow conditions and weather. We'll likely start at Whites River hut where we can hang out and cook inside, there's a nice fireplace and some tables there. We will be sleeping in tents. Over the following days we'll explore, probably move camp and check out some steeper terrain (again pending conditions). On the 18th we will have plenty of time to head back down the hill, and drive back to Newcastle. The ticket price should cover fuel for everyone, hire of skis, boots, and poles, National Park fees, lightweight dinner and breakfast for the 4 nights we'll be in the backcountry. Think of it more of a deposit - there is definitely going to be extra costs! Travel and food in town, any additional clothing hire, incidentals ... Please budget another 100 or so to avoid any problems. I'll be having a meetup at the gearstore sometime beforehand to go over maps and gear and answer any questions.  Send me an email at david.schmidt@uon.edu.au if you have any questions.

It's snowing! Let's do a beginner friendly ski trip out in the backcountry. The plan is to drive down as early in the morning as possible on the 9th of July, hire some gear in Cooma, head up for our first turns (ski) and then camp in Jindabyne. The next morning we'll then head up into the snow, and work out how to use backcountry skis. There will be lots of falling over, don't worry, even if you've never skied before. Even if you have, uphill skis with a pack on are going to make you fall over. We will aim to make it to White's River Hut and set up camp. We can hang out and cook inside, there's a nice fireplace and some tables there. We will be sleeping in tents. The next day we will have a cruise around the area and play on the slopes. On the 12th we will have plenty of time to head back down the hill, shower and camp in Jindabyne, before driving back to Newcastle the next morning. The ticket price should cover fuel for everyone, hire of skis, boots, and poles, National Park fees, lightweight dinner and breakfast for the 2 nights we'll be in the backcountry. Think of it more of a deposit - there is definitely going to be extra costs! Travel and food in town, any additional clothing hire, incidentals ... Please budget another 100 or so to avoid any problems.
