Got a taste for adventure?..... Timor's got you covered!
If you have been wanting to try caving or are experienced and want a weekend escape into the abyss, this is the trip for you. We have heaps of places for you guys to come out to Timor Caves, in Geawegal Country.
When: 24th-25th of May. The plan is to leave at 4PM on Friday, set up camp and hang around the campfire and then wake up bright and early Saturday to cave the day away before leaving for home in the arvo.
What: Now this is the fun part. First, we make our way to the caves which will be a short (or long) walk depending on how good you are at finding the damn things. Second, we put on our helmets, switch on our torches and dive into the underground world of rock, darkness and awesomeness. Once inside we walk, crawl, slide, and swear our way through the tunnels, trying to see what we can find and where we can get. Timor has a variety of larger caverns and smaller 'challenges' suited to a range of comfort zones. It’s the ultimate in terms of exploration, the only thing stopping you from finding out what’s around the corner or in that tunnel is you. We're aiming to get through 2-3 caves in the area over the day; all caves will be optional though and if you don’t feel like caving all day you're welcome to stay at camp.
Skills: This is a beginner trip so no prior experience of caving is required!
What to bring:
- 1 lunch, 1 breakfast and Snacks! Dinner will be on the road Friday and Saturday night.
- Water for one day: Minimum 3 litres, (at least 1L in a sturdy or plastic bottle)
