Sat, 13 Apr 2024
09:00 - 17:00

Interested in growing your skills abseiling or even want to give it a go? Come try beginners abseiling!

Abseiling is a foundation skill that is either necessary or transferrable to many of the trips we host throughout this year. Canyoning, climbing, caving along with more advanced abseils use of the skills you'll learn on the day. If you’re interested in learning to step of a cliff safely or need a refresher on your abseiling skills then here is your opportunity to do so! We'll be exploring a bunch of beginner abseils at Glenrock reserve to get comfortable with heights and learning how to abseil correctly and safely.

Info:

Please be at the gear shed, located near the cul-de-sac around the back of the Forum gym ("Newcastle University Mountaineering Club" on Google maps) no later than 9:00 am to make sure everyone has the correct gear (gear will be provided), we will set off to be hopefully abseiling by 10am. We’ll be car pooling to and from the trip and will be back at the gearshed by 5:00PM at the latest.

What you'll need to bring:
