Off the back of the ACA training weekend recently let's practice some canyon skills.
This is intended for those who can already set up and manage canyon anchors, we'll run another trip in future for those who are looking to move forward from a more basic level.
The day will be out at Cranky Corner Sunday the 3rd. Text me if you need gear, we'll obviously be bringing various bits of club gear.
We'll try and go over both the skills and the situations that they are best used for. An indication of some skills is:
- Setting handlines
- Creating new anchors (selecting natural anchors, meat anchors, considerations of the line)
- Guided rappels, ziplining bags, ascending ropes and ziplines
- Open vs closed system, bleeding the line
- Passing a knot through a releasable anchor
- Protecting your final abseiler (releasable abseils, rope bag management)
- Ascending ropes
